Hector M Adame began his service to the community 24 years ago as a behavioral autism consultant, providing 40-hour weekly home treatment to children diagnosed with autism and related developmental disorders. He is the founder of Autism & Behavioral Pediatric Clinic, where pediatric speech, occupational and behavioral therapy services are provided with a focus on autism and severe behavioral problems. Hector is an El Paso native and received his Bachelor’s in Psychology and Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Texas at El Paso. In 2014, Mr. Adame completed the Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification after five semesters of postgraduate classes, a supervised practicum of 2,000 hours, and passage of a board exam. In 2016, Mr. Adame completed the Profectum year-long curriculum of four semesters to achieve DIR/Floortime certification for Play-based therapy and an additional; 9-month Fellowship aimed at treatment with a focus on autism. He also completed the Hanen Certification in autism. As the lead behavior management consultant for severe cases involving aggressive behavior and self injurious behavior at the El Paso Psychiatric Center. Mr. Adame provides direct consults and training to their staff and medical teams when treating severe level cases. Mr. Adame provides an 8 hr. accredited required training to all El Paso Police department cadets and the Mental Health Crisis Unit. Over the past 3 years Mr. Adame has provided training to over five thousand teachers, therapist, and pediatric doctors and neurologist in Mexico through the “Programa de Neuro-Educasion.” In addition, he makes time to serve on multiple planning comities and boards aimed to provide support through autism educational symposiums for families with children with autism here in our community.
